var str = `Our friend Robert Mangold was having surgery at Vassar Brother;s Hospital today. we spoke with Sylvia Plimack Mangold a couple of days ago and offered to spend time with her at the hospital so she'd have company. The morning of the 18, Sylvia called said she would like that to happen, Also a few days ago Ben Busch called to tell us he wouod be in Maine to watch a trial (too long a story for here) and he would like to stop by when the trial was over and bring us some lobsters. He said he would arrive at night on the 18th or 19th, let himself in and we'd see him in the morning. So, I stripped the bed before turning in on Monday the 17th and washed thge sheets and put them up to dry before going to bed. In the morning, Lieb and I made the bed in the guest room and the spent the rest of the morning working on "Peregrination" and making decisions so that he would have plenty to work on while we were at the hospital. We spent the afternoon with Sylvia until Bob's surgery was over, and were able to see Bob before we went home. We got home in time to see Lieb and for me to feed the cat at her regular time. Ben called in the early evening to tell us the trial wasn't over and that he would get here some time the next day in the early afternoon.`;

The pipes leading to the faucets were partly galvanized steel. The steel had to be replaced, which led him down to my studio. Finding the connections and the shut off valve was extremely difficult. He had to shut off the water from the well. Also, I had sculptures and a large drawing and many other things stored in the small room where the pipes were. We had to cover all of this up to protect the work. Roger got very tense and I kept reassuring him that he shoukd just keep working and not to worry it too much. var str = `It was a rather hectic day. Lieb arrived at 9:30 AM instead of his usual 10:00 PM. This was so we could bring our car to have it detailed. Lieb emptied out the few things (it was more than I thought it would be) from the car before we left. I drove our car and Lieb his. We left mine at the detail Shop and I drove home with Lieb drove the 92" Volvo we had given him to test it. It almost stalled everytime we made a turn. We got back her and Lieb did a few things on the computer and took out the trash. He changed a light bulb in the kitchen. We had lunch together. Catherine (Murphy) was up in her studio drawing. Lieb and I took a large drawing of mine out of a storgae space in my studio because Roger the plumber was here working on water pipes and I was nervous about the drawing. Tim Liefer was also here. Lieb and I did some more stuff on the computer. He ordered som pencil erasers for Cathy. he and i cleared out items from near the windows so when marge and her crew came tomorrow at 8:00 AM they could start right away. In the afternoon we drove over to Sweedish Motors and left the 92 Volvo so mike could try and see why it was acting up. Lieb helped Tim move a clothes dryer, which Cathy used in a painting from her studio to the front of the property and put a sign on it saying in good condition and free. It was gone in five minutes. We got back to detail Lab at 5:00PM and oicked up my car. It looked brand new.`;
